Everyday Interactions

Learning the language is one thing, but using it in the proper context is another.  Will someone please tell me what common expressions are used when two people, who know each other, meet on the street. What is the equvalent of "Hey, what's happening!?" or "Hey, buddy, good to see you again."?
Can someone also tell me a common greeting used by people much closer to each other, like a husband to a wife or brother/sister to a sibling, when they meet in someplace public like a mall or restaurant after a short separation, and are glad to see each other.  Or, for example, when a husband returns from a trip and sees his wife for the first time.  Something intimate and personal, ....?

Re: everyday interactions

It is most common for friends / acquaintances who meet on the street to ask questions such as:
Asa ka gikan? (where have you come from?) or  Asa ka moadto? (where are you going?), to which they can either reply a short 'Sa balay lang.' (just from the house) or 'didto sa SM' (to SM). If they want to divulge more, then they might explain that they are going to get a spare part for their motorbike or whatever it might be. They could also be more cryptic if they don't want to say where they are going or coming from by saying 'Diha lang' (just over there).
Depending on the situation, it may also be appropriate to ask 'Nag-unsa ka dinhi?' (What are you doing here / what did you come here to get / do?).
As for the closer family friends it might just be the same questions or something like 'Hoy, diri ka diay.' (Hey, you're here, are you?)
For the husband returned to his wife, it is much harder to say, since that would be very much more personal and differ from one couple to another, and from situation to situation. 'Uy, kahumot ang imong giluto.' (Your cooking smells great) might be appropriate sometimes, or some such compliment.
Hope that helps.
